Misery Island, Salem, MA

I took a boat ride with a friend this past weekend to Misery Island, out in the middle of Salem Sound.  It was just the perfect day, warm but no humidity, and plentiful sunshine. We had a two hour window to hike and take photos before the boat picked us up again.

It was a lovely way to spend a late summer day.

While it was a nice day for a walk, I found it a little chilly for sunbathing, though others didn't.  The winter caused a lot of damage to the beach walk along the Nahant Causeway, but the DCR has already started making repairs.

It was nice to get back to Sanibel again.  I haven't in a few years, for a few reasons.  And it's always nice to get a bit of summer in the middle of winter.  I feel recharged.

It
