I visited the Saugus Ironworks with friends this morning. It's the first time I've been back in a few years. The park rangers did an excellent job giving us tours of the house and the actual works area.
Here are some shots. I played with my settings--the first are from the "landscape" mode, and later ones from the "water" shots that insured a blue sky.

Misery Island, Salem, MA
I took a boat ride with a friend this past weekend to Misery Island, out in the middle of Salem Sound. It was just the perfect day, warm but no humidity, and plentiful sunshine. We had a two hour window to hike and take photos before the boat picked us up again.
It was a lovely way to spend a late summer day.

Salem, MA, Maritime Festival
I headed out to the festival yesterday with my meetup group. It was hot and sunny most of the morning, and we talked to park rangers, sailors, and Coast Guardsmen. Lots of history and fun.
